Hello and welcome to the St. Anne School Music Program Wikispace! My name is Michael Adams and I am the music teacher here at St. Anne's. General music is taught weekly to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Activities range from learning circle games and songs in kindergarten to composing and performing our own jazz pieces in eighth grade. We also offer a chorus program that meets weekly and also weekly instrumental lessons provided through Lancaster Catholic High School.

K-2 - Primary
A vast majority of the students' time is comprised of vocal development. With the use of three major pedagogical theories, Kodaly, Orff, and Dalcroze, students develop their musical abilities and awareness through singing, instruments, and movement.

3-5 - Intermediate
These students still focus on developing their singing voice but are now exposed to a more extensive amount of music theory. Students start to read and write their own music.

6-8 - Junior High
Students in the junior high focus on how music affects their lives and how it has affected others in the past. We also explore the use of music technology through composition and the recording process.

Mass of the Little Flower

Prayers to Saint CeceliaPatron Saint of Musicians

At once in our hearts and in our tongues we offer double prayer sent heavenward on winged notes to praise God dwelling there. While in our hearts and tongues we try with song to praise God twice, we ask dear saint, to help us be united close to Christ! Amen.

O glorious Saint Cecilia, who chose to die instead of denying your King, we pray you please to help us as His fair praise we sing. We lift our hearts in joyous song to honor Him this way. And while we sing, remembering, to sing is to doubly pray.
